🌪Windy Hammock Camping at a Ruined Farm on a Wild Stormy Night – Wales

The two of us took a trip to a ruined farm house in the Brecon Beacons, Wales to do a spot of wild camping. It was a very windy wild stormy night, unfortunately this reflects in the video with the windy noise. But spare a thought for me in that hammock for the night haha! It swung me about during the night with gale force winds, the building offered little protection but I was glad of it’s ruined walls.

It looked a little more comfy in the tent (Lightwave T10) to be honest. We used the old farm oven to get a fire going and take some shelter behind it’s walls. The fire didn’t seem to warm us much at all and the wind chill took the temperature well below freezing. I cooked up a beef joint and made a stew. Drufus went for the garlic mushrooms, potatoes and rib eye steak.

I discovered I am more of a ground dweller and probably will only use the hammock for short periods from now on. I had a lack of sleep in it and woke up a little tired and grumpy… A tutti frutti drink plus a coffee brought me round though!
